Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8s – Days) | No Weekend or On-Call Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily care of cancer patients, including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments in accordance with the radiation oncologist's prescription and instructions
• Perform simulations, assist with treatment planning procedures including tumor localization and dosimetry, and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students as needed
• Assist during Brachytherapy procedures and support IMRT and 3-D patient setup in CT, including fabrication of proper immobilization devices
• Check prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification; take and verify images of all treated areas; maintain patient markings and document treatment doses accurately using EPIC EMR
• Reinforce physician, dietitian, and care team recommendations to patients regarding treatment reactions, side effects, and care of radiated areas; observe and report any unusual patient reactions or events
• Observe and maintain radiation safety measures for patients and personnel; check charges daily for accurate billing documentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience
• Active ARRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• Virginia Radiation Therapist License required — Virginia Temporary License is acceptable with a pending Virginia License; license or license status must be included with all submissions
• Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and Philips Big Bore CT Scanner
• Experience with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IMRT, 3-D conformal, and 2-D radiation therapy techniques
• Familiarity with Brachytherapy procedures
• Experience with dosimetry documentation and tumor localization procedures
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicists, dosimetrists, oncologists, nurses, and social workers
